The Zweigelt is an elegant red wine that matures in oak barrels. In 2000, Christine established the vineyards surrounding the historic Gaudententurm; additional grapevines thrive in Partschins-Pröfing at 640 meters. Thanks to the northern exposure, a constant cool breeze ensures our vines never get too warm. As a result, we are rewarded with finely developed aromas and unparalleled freshness.

The Zweigelt undergoes malolactic fermentation (MLF) in the cellar, contributing to its digestibility and pleasant roundness. It matures in a French barrique barrel, expertly crafted by the Bolzano cooperage, Mittelberger, for eight months. In the glass, our Zweigelt showcases an intense ruby-red colour and entices the nose with a bouquet of berries (raspberry, sweet cherry, and cranberry), accompanied by velvety, spicy notes of mountain thyme, freshly ground pepper, cinnamon, and dark chocolate. The pleasantly mild tannins and subtle acidity on the palate leave you yearning for the next sip.

Our Zweigelt pairs exceptionally well with spicy fish and delicate meat dishes. It is also a delightful accompaniment to hearty pasta dishes and lasagna. Decanting the wine before enjoying it reveals the Zweigelt’s aromas even more impressively.
